Convention: There’s an app for that
From the June 2016 issue of The Rotarian
Get the most out of this year’s Rotary International Convention, 28 May-1 June in Korea, with the Rotary Events app.
The free app lets you plan activities, learn about speakers and entertainment, download resources, share photos, and connect with friends. It can help you navigate the convention venue and House of Friendship and provide feedback to convention organizers.
You don’t have to be connected to the Internet to use the app. Once you’ve downloaded it, most of the information is available offline.
Download the Rotary Events app through the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads or through Google Play for Android.
Other apps that can help you enjoy your time in Korea, all available for Apple and Android devices, include:
Google Translate Use your phone’s camera to translate Korean street signs, menus, and other text into English.
Naver Map Korea’s equivalent of Google Maps. If you ask for directions from someone on the street, this will be the app they are most familiar with.
Visit Korea You’ll always have your Korean guidebook with you when you download this app from the Korea Tourism Organization.
